Gary Aubin – Having a broad impact as a SENDCO
Gary discusses how SENDCOs can spend too much time on tasks that have little impact. Many SENDCOs advocate endlessly for pupils with SEND without thinking enough about how they can work through others to achieve real change in their school culture.
Gary looks at how SENDCOs can work through others and prioritise effectively to have the widest possible impact in their school.
3 takeaways from Gary’s training session
– To consider what the evidence suggests SENDCOs should focus on –
– To look at effective ways of working through others to maximum effect –
– To understand how the creation of systems can support SENDCO workload and embed changes in practice –
This session is aimed at SENDCOs, line managers of SENDCOs, & assistant/deputy SENDCOs
