How SENCOs working across more than 1 school can benefit
children, parents, schools and SENCOs
Juggling a whole school SENCO role with fixed days teaching in class can be a huge challenge. One that leaves many SENCOs feeling their impact is limited by what it’s possible to achieve in one assigned PPA afternoon each week. Flexibility is key to being an effective and efficient SENCO. This is why a dedicated, non-classroom based SENCO working across more than 1 school makes so much sense.
SENCO of 4 schools, Ginny Bootman explains how this change in approach can benefit children with SEND, parents, schools and SENCOs.
Ginny is an educator with over 25 years in education as a classroom practitioner, SENCO and Headteacher who is passionate about all things concerned with special educational needs. She believes in a caring approach that involves listening to others and putting ourselves in their shoes. Ginny embodies her mantra #followtheempathyroad in everything she does.
